Saw the doctor today and other updates

Nothing terribly exciting. She took down some dates, decided that we don't really know when I am due (I am strongly suspecting that I am due a week ahead of what my LMP suggests, meaning Feb 7th) and said she'd make an appointment for right away with the perinatologist (to get a due date and see if we can tell the gender of the baby). She took my blood pressure, went over the new suggestions on folic acid (at my request) and discussed diclectin for nausea and we both agree that it will likely do little to make me feel better (since the B6 is doing little), but increase my tiredness, which wouldn't be nice. I see her again in a month.

We had a lovely time visiting with Dave's parents, despite the rain. Isabel was pleased as punch to see her bunka bunka (grandpa and grandma, of course) and at all of the new things she could get into.

We told them through Isabel by playing the "where's dada/mama/grandpa/doggy" game for a few rounds and then asked her "where's baby" to which she responded almost on cue by pointing at my tummy.

We didn't get a chance to tell my mom that way since there were always other people around, so we the link to the blog to her and to Stephi today. They should be tuning in soon to learn the secret ;)

I may not get to check in much this week, since my cousins are up visiting. We are hoping to get the opportunity to do some fun stuff if the rain dissipates for longer than 1/2 an hour at a time :P

  1. well it sounds like maybe your doctor has taken a lesson in "how not to be a useless tit to your patients"! How lovely. When do you see the perinatologist / ultrasound types? Soonish? Erin's had her baby, so your the only one I have for preggo updates!

  2. I am so pleased to have acquired your stalking efforts *lol*
I said to Dave that it was scary how helpful she was, but I think it had something to do with the fact that I was sitting there looking like one of those assholes who is totally indifferent to the world, fiddling on my BlackBerry when she came in. We won't tell her that really, I was reviewing a list of things to ask her about ;)
I should see the perinatologist (hehe...Dr.Butt) soon....likely next week sometime. We will take the dates from that (although, I am pretty sure I know what we will come up with). I did get the letter for my first round of bloodwork today. Hooray :P
